It seems Ludicrous that in the midst of our planets peril that Scientist's would continue an "Is there life on Mars Program" wasting Billions of dollars on something that will never come to fruition.

Who cares if there is life or water on Mars?  What about our life and water on Earth?   Really Now!   How will scientists continue their research when earth has been obliviated by Global Warming?

Instead of seeing how their little robot on Mars can barely scoop up soil for research on the news every night.   I'd rather hear how Scientist's are making giant leaps in reducing greenhouse gasses or improving transportation without reliance on Foreign oil.

If Scientists seriously believe that they could make Mars inhabitable one day for Humans.   Ha!   Then they could easily SAVE Earth!

Cmon guys!   Stop the rediculous Mar's Program and join the Earth Program!   Look, we have water and life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  How bout that!

Much credit to what you state.
People tend to make 'things' important which in turn makes 'them' important; much of which is 'folly' at best.

It's every where... science, politics, education, finance, and even religion.

Hang in there!
You have 'that something' alot don't have, Common Sense!

They haven't even started spending money yet.
The U.S. and Russia are back at the old space race. To see who can have the first manned mission to Mars.
Plans are already on the drawing boards and prototypes are built or in the process there of.

The problem is, even if they could come up with solutions to some of the problems we face, to implement change you have to alter human behavior. That would take more years than this planet has left.

Example, the mid 70's and the gas crunch, people sitting in lines waiting for 10 or 15 gal. of gas.
That's when many fuel efficient cars hit the market.
Now look what we have, Expeditions, 3/4 and one ton trucks driven by people who have no real use for that type of vehicle, it just looks cool!!

People always think that it's going to get better. No problem.

I agree the oil crises shook alot of people up in the 70's. I remember my mom complaining about paying 2 whole dollars for a gallon of gas hehe! Those were scary times but people took a stand in them days. I remember lines of truckers on strike right here in the US.

Today, there's not many people taking a stand. I hear a lot of complaining but when will it be enough to take a stand.

If America needs a behavior change, I think they're getting it now. Used car lots are beginning to overflow with used SUV's. Our bahavior is being adjusted everyday we stop to fill up and Gas is two cents higher than the last time we filled up.

I don't know about everyone else, but my behavior about things is going to some serious changes.

I am a Hawaiian born and raised in Colorado Springs CO. Where I have made skiing my favorite passtime since I was 15. Career wise I had been a technician for 20 years. I had recently retired to pursue my own dreams. I'm glad that I did because a year later, my company closed it's doors for good. Today, I'm married to an AZ born and raised girl, living in Scottsdale and everyday... I reminisce about Colorado's cool breezy days!
