Something called the Neptune Memorial Reel, which will be about 3 1/4 miles off the coast of Key Biscayne, will open this fall as a new burial spot of internment for those loving the sea. The plans are, that the reef will cover 16 acres and have room for 125,000 remains. The ashes are going to be mixed with cement specially designed for underwater use and fitted into a mold. A diver will then places and secures into the reef and a copper and bronze plaque will be installed with the person's name, date of birth and death and a short message.

I suppose this is fine with it sells, but it certainly sounds a bit odd to me. To each their own?

A illegal alien has been charged with raping a  10 year old little girl in Idaho, who recently gave birth to a baby!  The local police began investigating after medical officials reported the pregnant child.  Gutierrez-Juarez is the suspect and remains in jail.

It's amazing that a 10 year old child could have a child!  But for her to have been raped too, is another tragedy.  There are way too many monsters in the world.

A Florida school board member, Mr. Wheeler, has gotten into some trouble for responding to a parent who was concerned about the expense of school uniform, by saying, ""Everyone can afford Wal-Mart and if they can’t, they need to think about turning off their cable TV or stop buying alcohol or cigarettes and spend their money on their children"

Honestly, I think almost everyone in this country can afford uniforms from Wal-Mart.  And yes life can be financially difficult for all of us raising a family, but even most of the "poor" in this country  have 2 cars and cable TV.

I also think Mr. Wheelers comments were rude and a little insulting and could have been worded better.  No one needs a snotty board member, wagging his finger at them.  We had enough of that from Mr. Clinton.

Democratic Senator Obama made a statement yesterday, that he will not longer wear an American flag lapel pin.  OK, not that big a deal.  It's just a pin.  Or is it?

The pin, as with our pledge of allegiance and our national anthem is a reflection of patriotism for our country.  And his reasoning for discarding the pin was  believing it was somehow 'phony patriotism'.

Unfortunately, Mr. Obama, that isn't the way the majority of the country sees that little American flag lapel pin.  It's a reflection of love, appreciation, and respect for this nation.  Is Mr Obama afraid someone will think he supports a war, he do not?  Concerned he'll look too bias to the U.S.A.?  Which is more important for someone wishing to be President?  Patriotism or political statement?

Personally, I think he's managed to shoot himself in the foot.  Maybe he'll now wrap his foot in the flag.
