Hey everyone, new to the Blog and also new to the valley which I love. Anyways, I have seen a couple of water parks around the valley, some are great while others well you know, need some(upgrade). So I hear this super water park, you know world class status the whole nine is being built and its due sometime in 2010. Location I think is at the 101&202 intersection. I think they mentioned they will tear down an old golf course and in place the resort. Seems like a great project for the valley at least IMO how about everyone else I am pretty sure we all want some water sports here in the valley.

Here is the page www.waveyard.com

Oh one last thing, the water consumption will be equivalent that to an 18-hole golf course, you know all the wasted water to keep the the course nice and green.

I think it's a great idea. I wish it was around when I was a kid. I just hope it's affordable.

I can't wait!! I hope to score some killer waves without the LONG drive to SOCAL. Open ocean power only a 10 minute drive from home. Hopefully they make memberships an option and lockers for our gear.

Dade County , now I really know you are from Miami hahaha, I think a chunk of my family moved here so you can add about 30 more Dade County Desert members haha. By any chance do you happen to know a good Cuban spot here in the Valley???

Cuban places...hmmm?

Well, there's the Havana Cafe on Camelback (I think) was there awhile back. Decent food. It's no Versaille or Padrino's like back in the MIA, but it's good. There's a good Jamaican place in downtown Phoenix, brand new in fact...called "BreadFruit" on East Pierce Street. Great beef patties and jerk chicken that will set your innards a blaze..for real!

I have heard of the Havana Cafe and that its decent, I really miss the Cuban Food. I'll have my wife look for the Jamaican spot since she works DT , pretty sure they have Oxtail too huh. Oh also before I forget there will be memberships for the Waveyard.Maybe when its up and running I'll see you there but I'll be on the scuba diving side of the park. I'm curious if they will make it like a reef aquarium type thing. Never was a surfer guy, I was the type of people that jumped of the pier at southpoint and struggled to swim back to the rocks.

602....
Yeah, definitely check out the jamaican spot...great beef patties and the jerk chicken (super hot!) is also fab. I know Southpoint well...I used to frequent Haulover and the North side of SOBE..2 great spots for Winter time swell in South Florida. My main hangout was Dania pier and the State Park.
