The arguments continue over illegal immigration. It's the same tired bantering, criminals or not. Here is another view.

Along with these "poor immigrants" comes their children. It's hard enough for the parents to find work and the children are left to their own devices.

Many join street gangs to be a part of something, or for protection from other gangs.

In 1981 there were 150 documented street gangs in Phoenix with 85% being Hispanic. Today there are well over 300!!

In 1992, Hispanic gangs emerged as the source of most of Phoenix's gang violence. A distinction still held today.

Much of the Hispanic gang problem had to do with rivalry between home based Hispanic Chicano gangs and gangs comprised of Mexican Nationals.

The gang BLEEP Power (Mojado Power) organized to protect it's members from the home based gangs. The home based Chicanos didn't like the idea that illegal immigrants might be taking jobs away from Hispanics born in this country. Imagine that!!

Even the pro-illegal movement cannot deny the deterioration of neighborhoods such as Maryvale for one example.

The gangs move in and start spray painting everything in sight. They move drugs to support the members.

Long time residence move out and with home values depressed poorer people move in. Hispanics, like other cultures, tend to gravitate to the same areas.

Soon they bring businesses that cater primarily to their community. So now when you drive down a road, such as Buckeye, Van Buren, Thomas or Indian School, West of I-17, all the business signs are in Spanish.

These areas are growing larger and they are not specific to the areas mentioned. They start small and spread out like a cancer.

Most of these people have no long term plans to remain in this country. They are here to make what ever money they can and go back home. But there are far more coming then there are going.

The ones that join the gangs however, have no plan to leave. Why would they, the pickings are easier, and the justice system is much more agreeable.

Pro-immigration makes the argument that these people are just trying to better their lives. This is no doubt true. But the negative affects of this exodus from South of the border are putting strains on this country far beyond it's ability to handle.

The gangs are becoming bolder and more violent. Dead bodies dumped in the desert are becoming common place.

As for the Sheriff, he is a media hound, but he is pro-active. Is he making a difference with the illegal problem? That would depend on your prospective. He really does not arrest that many, but he has had results.

I believe that regular citizens, being more aware of what goes on in their neighborhoods, making tips to the authorities has been of far greater value with the immigration issue.

Now it's up to those authorities, the Mayor, Governor, Chief of Police and the legislators to start enforcing the laws and the will of the people.

Now BC, you know what a real rant is!!!!

A few thoughts—
"...these people are just trying to better their lives." It's been over twenty years and the same crocodile tears. Mexicans have had plenty time to get their act together. (1) We don't owe them. (2) Washington D.C. needs an ultimatum and so do illegal aliens. Our terms and our time table, times up. (3) No more Mexican legislators crossing the border to discuss our affairs. Calderone can refine and sell his crude to pay us back for taking care of la raza. If the drug lords won't let him keep the profits, we'll accept their gulf coast in exchange. Sayonara, auf wiedersehen, au revoir to the Sierra Club and friends because Sinclair Oil is coming to town near you. (4) Get H.R.H. out of the governor's office. The National Guard will be taking up residence at the border, no shovels, no paint balls. I'm sure she won't want to see the bill. (5) If illegals say they left Mexico because they need work, then they will leave America for the same reason. If man or woman leaves offspring behind, as usual, there will be a fine for abandonment, an arrest warrant, a sheriff's deputy waiting, and restitution to pay if they try to return. (6) If illegals think MeCHa provides a better education, then enrollment with MeCHa begins in the fall. Be sure to apply for their school lunch vouchers. (7) No more race-laced talking points from Juan, Carlos, Geraldo, or Salvador. We never really were that stupid. (8) No more "world" court interference because the UN is going out of business i

(8) No more "world" court interference because the UN is going out of business in 2009. (9) No more directives for U.S. law enforcement in broken-English. (10) Free business plans for employers caught hiring illegal aliens.

Well said pj. Please e-mail your thoughts to the media, just maybe one will have the guts to air it. Our politicians need a copy too!

PS: Start with McCain, Kyl, and Your Rep. GWB deserves a special delivery copy along with Clinton and Obama.

Alright PJ, I'll bite, what do you think my "other career" is?

And BC, to answer your question, yes we are headed toward becoming another part of Mexico.
It's taught to the children of Mexico that the Anglo "stole their land". They know that they could never win it back in a fight, so they figure to destroy from within.
All these people talk about having their land stole, what part of CONQUERED do they not understand?

And Tazaz, maybe your right, I should send a copy of this to the people you mentioned. I'll do this, but I won't get my hopes up. It would take 1,000's of people sending the same type of message to even get their attention.

Thank you all for you comments and complements, they are always welcome.

Oh, and as for the media doing something, you see how fast this post got buried in the back pages.

While on the index page we have Ricks "I gave up coffee".

Or his "Thank You" which was for a good cause but has drawn no comment.

And then we have Steve Krafft "Guilty until proven innocent". Three pages of people telling him that it is an idiotic question.

No, don't look to the media for assistance.

I heard that. The SKraft "blogs" are mind-blowing!

As for your other career FE, of course I don't know your background. But, you can write! Considering some college grads can't do that, I'm guessing you've done other things in your life too. :D

Gangs are rarely mentioned in regular mainstream broadcasts. When I watched TV news, I started channel surfing as soon as it came on trying to get whole stories. Not only is it blatantly apparent that important information is missing, but the news is so grossly editorialized, it should be criminal. Finally, I saw the light, the television set may not be worth the space it occupies. So far so good.

Actually PJ I have no formal education.
I dropped out of school in my sophomore year due to the fact that I couldn't stay out of trouble. I was out of school more than I was in, I found rodeos and general hell raising more to my liking.
I started working Summers at 14, in construction, and when I dropped out went full time.
I have no regrets, I worked with my Dad the last couple of years that he was alive.
It's those two years that had the most effect on my life.
I took my GED in 1985 and without studying, passed it in half the time allotted and had a 92% average.
My Dad always said "don't give an opinion on something that you know nothing about". So I do a lot of reading.
But I did drive a truck for almost 20 years and I listened to a lot of talk radio.
After listening to what they had to say, I would check the facts for myself.
I suppose that's why I like reading your posts, you are obviously a well read individual of superior intellect. As opposed to many on here.

My apologies PJ, Tazaz wanted you to send your post "A Few Thoughts" to the agencies mentioned.
I think that would be a great idea. But again it would take thousands to get their attention!

Just a for instance, in all the polls and all the e-mails sent to the Governments Geological Place Names, 75% (or higher) were in favor of retaining the name Squaw Peak.
Didn't do much good now did it.
The will of the people means nothing anymore.

FESKJS...great blog. You did well with the time that you did spend in school, you obviously paid attention and learned the 3'Rs'. If one can read and write and put 2+2 together they can certainly inform the oblivious.
I agree with you that PJ is an intellect and, seemingly, a very fair and gracious Lady as well. I have just begun to participate in the internet and posting and I am taking her all in; impressive!

FESKJS, I felt the same as the other bloggers on your site, sorry that I didn't make that clear. You missed your calling as a truck driver, YOU are the one who should be writing the documentary! You have a talent for factual writing. I read PJ's blog last and she fired me up. Sometimes I get upset because it seems that we Americans are just sitting back and letting our country be taken away from us. We need more from you and PJ. ASAP.

Once again I thank you all. Individual recognition is very flattering.
And yes garamps, PJ is all that you say.
BC is a very bright and witty lady as well. And to answer your question BC, yes I did find gold. Maybe not the kind that merits monetary value, but time with my kids and grand-kids in the mountains is worth a whole lot more.
I'm still just an ole cowboy at heart. I don't like to be pinned up.
And Tazaz, thank you for the complement as well. But I don't think I missed anything by being a truck driver. I wanted to drive a tractor trailer since I was a kid. Few people can say they had a job for 20 years that they truly loved.
I liked being a ranch hand as much, but with kids, the pay couldn't keep up!
Once again, thank you

FE, my godparent's son grew up wanting to buy his own rig and drive. Last I heard, he had done just that. It was something in his heart from the very beginning. He had the best of everything and just wanted to be on the road. There are some good people behind the wheel. Many thanks for all the kind words everyone.

Tazaz, you made my day. If I can fire people up to say no to this nonsense, I consider that a huge accomplishment.
