I anxiously went to the IMAX on July 19 to see my favorite Batman villain, the Joker, at his finest.  "The Dark Knight" lives up to all its hype plus more.  The two and a half hour running time can be compared to the thrills of riding down a giant flume at a water park.  No one is going to get bored.

The editing by Lee Smith is brilliant.  I have nothing but accolades of praise for the craftmanship displayed in regards to the editing because so many opposing scenes were molded together and then broken away suddenely as to leave the viewer with nail-biting tension.

This is Heath Ledger's film.  His portrayal as the Joker is the epitome of all villain roles to come.  Since Fredric March won the Oscar for his transformation into Mr. Hyde, Heath Ledger deserves an Oscar!  This Joker is so menacing that when you leave the theater, you will still hear that haunting laughter and remember that flickering tongue.  Witness the scene where he dons a nurse's uniform and destroys a complete hospital and you will enter the mind of the quintessential madman.

The Batmobile along with the Bat-Pod motorbike guarantee cheers from the audience.  The chase scenes are top-notch and to borrow the phrase from Al Jolson...."You ain't seen nothing yet."  It is best to see THE DARK KNIGHT on an IMAX screen to get the optimum experience.  The sound alone will rock your seat.  You also have the added benefit of looking at the gruesome face of the Joker on the extra large screen.

THE DARK KNIGHT is a must!  If you don't see this movie, you will be missing the best popcorn entertainment that a theater can offer.

Buy your tickets in advance because many shows are currently sold out.

I give this movie an A+.

I agree GIG. Great movie, that is until the end. I think because of the death of Ledger it changed the ending. I also liked the magic in the movie performed by Ledger. All in all though I give it an A.

I should correct that to, the magic trick performed by Ledger as the Joker with the pencil. It was fantastic.

RDJVZ, I'm positive that the saying, "Want to see a pencil disappear?" will join the ranks of famous movie quotes.

sheldon71779, there was no need for a homophobic comment. This post is strictly about the movie, THE DARK KNIGHT. The Forum rules state that homophobic speech will not be tolerated. I hope a moderator looks at what you wrote and removes you from the Forum.

Well then folks.....why....so...SERIOUS?? To put it very bluntly, one of the most amazing films I have ever seen. The movie is, as GayisGood said, a rollercoaster ride. Painful to watch at times, thrilling to the point where the edge of your seat is all you will use at other times. Heath Ledger's Joker is played to perfection, the Joker is just so BAD, a truly vicious psychopath who doesn't care about the consequences of his actions because there just aren't any - he gets away with it all. Just a fantastic movie. The first movie in a long time that as the credits rolled, i turned to my wife and said "Let's watch it again, right now."

GIG. Just report this blog to the moderator so they can see how Sheldon operates. Maybe they will take notice of his other threats on this site and his homophobic speech and ban him.

Great movie, good performances all the way around, Heath Ledger though was the prize in this, a brilliant performance and deserving of the Oscar buzz. Gotta love the pencil trick.
This is a movie well worth watching.
It may not be suitable for the under 13 crowd.

It's just my opinion, I thought we are all entitled to our opinions here. I think being gay is a mental retardation. It goes against laws of nature. You can't reproduce by having sex with the same sex. I think BLEEP are very perverted and twisted in the head. Seek help

RD, I know you get upset when I say things about your lover but I gotta state my opinions no matter who likes it just like you do.

Are you 12 years old sheldon? This is typical of you. Saying someone is "retarded" or the correct term "mentally disabled" because they are gay is just asinine. You're showing how uneducated you are by that statement. Gay bashing needs to stop on this site and in the real world. This was about a movie and you've twisted it into something else. You're an idiot. I apologize for this moron GIG. Some people were born to hate.
