You already take off your shoes, belt, jacket, and liquids at the airport security checkpoint. And for one woman on a flight out of San Francisco, that also included having to take off her bra.
According to foxnews.com, the woman's bra had a large underwire, and set off the metal detector. Ultimately, she had to take the darn thing off, before they let her on the plane.
Okay...so we've heard of all types of stories like this (remember the woman with the nipple rings?)....but do you think this is going too far? or do you think things like this are necessary to ensure public safety?
I'm sorry that woman had to go through that humiliating experience, but on the other hand, if terrorists can put explosives in their shoes....I wouldn't put it past them to start hiding things in their undergarments. Just think-- the day we have to start putting put our undies through the scanner, may not be too far away!!! Can you imagine?!?!

I haven't watched the Olympics since I was a kid-- so I was surprised that I actually had an interest in tuning in this year. There were even events I had never heard of-- like the TRAMPOLINE! How bizarre!
Did any of y'all get to watch?? (when you weren't watching FOX 10 News, of course), and if so, what was your favorite event?
It's amazing some of the things the human body is capable of. Running at 30 mph, bending your legs so far back they almost touch your head, and hurling yourself from the same height of a 3-story building- all while doing flips in the air.
I always wanted to be an Olympian....unfortunately, power sleeping isn't a sport....
At least, not yet. :)

Call them what you want-- boobs, breasts, tatas...
The fact is, every woman has them--some are big, some are small, they even come in all shapes, sizes, and colors.
Now that I have your attention (or at least, I hope I do)-- did you know that 1 in 8 women in the U.S. will develop breast cancer in her lifetime?
My mom was one of those women. She passed away just one month ago-- after battling this horrible disease for well over a decade. It was hard seeing the person who loves me most in this world, suffer so much because of breast cancer. Even in her last moments, my mom never gave up hope.
Throughout my mom's battle, she was treated with numerous drugs, and several different types of chemotherapy. Some of them worked for a while, some of them didn't, but ultimately, it made me realize one thing about cancer treatment-- research is important.
It's important to give breast cancer patients a fighting chance at beating this thing. There is a serious need for better, more efficient drugs, as well as advanced, more improved cancer treatments. I'm thankful that my mom's chemo was at first successful, and it prolonged her life for years. But I'm also disappointed that when her cancer came back about a year and a half ago, no form of chemo worked on her. There was no drug on the market that could help her, or anything doctors could do to save her life.
That's why I'm asking you to either donate, or participate in this year's City of Hope Walk for Hope for Breast Cancer. It'll be Sunday morning, October 5, 2008, at the Phoenix Zoo. It only costs $30 to participate in the walk, and you can donate as much or as little as you like. Proceeds go to the City of Hope-- a cancer center that specializes in both innovative cancer research, and treatment of cancer patients.
Chances are, breast cancer will be a part of my life, again. Maybe I'll be diagnosed, or maybe a sister, friend, or co-worker. Either way, my hope is that when that time comes, we will have the drugs and treatment available to kill this disease, for good.
Please join me in bringing this hope to others:

This story on the foreclosure murder-suicide just blows my mind!
A Phoenix man kills his wife, sets the house on fire, and then kills himself. He left a suicide email outlining how desperate he was- no money, no where to turn, and about to lose his home.
It's scary thinking about the limits people are pushed to as a result of our horrible economy. I'm sure many of you (myself included) have at one point or another felt the pinch-- but harming another person or going to this extreme is beyond my understanding.
How very sad...

Airlines continue to screw us, but now, are they making an effort to kiss and make up???
Delta Airlines says it will be offering high-speed wireless internet access on it's entire fleet by the middle of 2009. Continental has announced plans to do the same.
I wonder how long it'll be before they announce they're going to charge us for it? And by how much? Anybody want to take a guess??? Heaven forbid, we get it for free...

Congress is working on a "bonus" for soldiers who were forced to stay in Iraq and Afghanistan past their enlistment (troops affected by the STOP LOSS policy).
If passed, they would get an extra $500 A MONTH in retroactive "special pay" because many of these troops were unable to start jobs or attend college when their enlistments extended. An estimated 12,000 troops currently in that situation would qualify.
This pisses me off. First of all, our troops are GROSSLY UNDERPAID. And now, you're only going to give them a measly $500 bucks for continuing to risk their lives overseas?!? What's that? Like, a little over a hundred bucks a week???
Troops affected by stop-loss have already fulfilled their obligation-- a few hundred bucks doesn't make up for the new job they COULD BE WORKING, the fun memories they COULD BE MAKING with their families, and the safety they COULD BE HAVING here in the states.
I'm glad Congress is at least considering giving them SOMETHING, but our troops deserve waaaaay better than that.

With all the stories we've been doing lately about crypto-- it makes me cringe!
I think about all those years of playing in the water as a kid-- and even as a lifeguard when I got a little older! I can't remember ever swallowing pool water, but I'm sure I did...
Yummy!
For parents out there, the Health Department wants to remind you to tell your kids not to BLEEP in the water. That's how this thing spreads, folks...

It's smackdown, Indy style! Danica Patrick vs. Mila Duno
By now, I'm sure you've seen the video (if not, it's here on our website). The two female drivers get into a bit of a spat-- with cameras rolling.
Danica was upset because Duno wouldn't get out of her way during a practice run, so she marches over to her pit, and calls her out.
Duno, throws a towel at her-- twice.
Who was in the wrong here? Any opinions?

Wow-- three times in one week!
Today, there was another Southwest flight (coming in from Austin--what are the chances?) that had to make an emergency landing in Phoenix due to mechanical problems.
A few minutes later, ANOTHER flight--- this time, US Airways--had to turn around after having problems on its way to Las Vegas.
If you remember, on Monday, I was on the plane that blew a tire during landing. It was coming in from Austin, and we (passengers) didn't know what was going on until we got jerked around during landing.
This is scary! I fly A LOT, and this was the first time I have ever been evacuated from a plane. What's even more disturbing, is that it's happened three times now-- in one week!
I'm NOT a nervous flyer, but I think I'm going to be after this....

I've seen so many articles about this-- I thought I'd blog about it.
The night of Senator Obama's big victory last week, he and his wife Michelle exchanged a "fist bump." It's been analyzed, dissected, and examined on just about every news source out there.
The one that REALLY gets me though-- is this clip...from Fox's very own E.D. Hill.
Click below to see it:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_vmQrTi3aM
In it...she uses the term "terrorist fist jab" to refer to different ways people are interpreting the "Obama fist bump." Problem is, NO ONE seriously thinks it's a terrorist jab! Everyone and their mother has done the fist bump at some point (heck, even Troy and I did one in a promo earlier this year).
I respect E.D. Hill as an anchor, and in her defense, sometimes producers write things in our scripts that we would NEVER say ourselves (in those cases I usually change it to suit my speaking style). But sometimes, you're not always able to get scripts in advance...and the first time you're seeing it is when you're reading it on the air. In this situation, though, I don't know if that's the case...
At any rate...it's disturbing that someone would even write a script like that, and that it made it on the air. Whoever is responsible should be fist-bumped out the door!

The New York Daily News is reporting that Roger Clemens took Viagra to boost performance-- and we're not talkin' bedroom action here....
The report says he used it to help him on the pitcher's mound...and that use of the "little blue pill is rampant in pro-sports locker rooms.
The drug is legal, and not banned by MLB or other leagues...
The article says a study is now underway to determine if the drug can be used to cheat in sports competitions.
Opinions, anyone?

I thought this was interesting...
The Huffington Post has an online interactive map of campaign donors. You can search by zip code, occupation, or city to see who has donated to which campaign and by how much.
Hugh Hefner, a democrat? Who knew?!?

I know we've all probably had an experience like this before:
You call up your credit card company, cable company, phone company, whoever-- and get a customer service representative that's rude, grumpy, and downright mean!
MSN.com has come out with their list of WORST COMPANIES for customer service. Here they are:
10. Cox Communications (I don't agree with this one, they've always been very helpful with me--so far)
9. HSBC Finance
8. Time Warner Cable
7. Bank of America
6. Capital One
5. Qwest
4. Abercrombie & Fitch
3. Sprint-Nextel (I've had both good and bad experiences with them)
2. Comcast
1. AOL
Is there any other company that should be on this list?
I think DELL COMPUTERS customer service is HORRIBLE! They put you on hold for an hour, and then the representative can never help me. I dread having to call them...

If you saw our 6pm show today, then you saw my story on the new Nintendo Wii Fit game.
It's awesome! This is the most fun I've had shooting a story... I'm glad they're making games like this instead of the ones where you just sit on your caboose and do nothing.
I was just bummed that they sold out so quickly! Just like the Wii system, it looks like I'll have to wait to get one...
Anybody else tried it out yet???

I read an aritcle the other day about how some employers are actually GIVING EMPLOYEES MONEY FOR GAS-- because of sky high prices.
Some are giving them an extra $50 bucks or so on their paychecks.....others, are giving small cost of living raises to make it more affordable for their workers.
I know it's a longshot-- but does anyone have a boss or employer helping out like that???
