I know we've all probably had an experience like this before:

You call up your credit card company, cable company, phone company, whoever-- and get a customer service representative that's rude, grumpy, and downright mean!

MSN.com has come out with their list of WORST COMPANIES for customer service.  Here they are:

10. Cox Communications (I don't agree with this one, they've always been very helpful with me--so far)

9. HSBC Finance

8. Time Warner Cable

7. Bank of America

6. Capital One

5. Qwest

4. Abercrombie & Fitch

3. Sprint-Nextel (I've had both good and bad experiences with them)

2. Comcast

1. AOL

Is there any other company that should be on this list?

I think DELL COMPUTERS customer service is HORRIBLE!  They put you on hold for an hour, and then the representative can never help me.  I dread having to call them...

I agree, Cox has always been very helpful and always had an answer for me when I needed to contact them for whatever the reason....not sure about the others.

I've only had experience with Qwest (on more than one occasion) and found them to be extremely helpful on every issue. Now Verizon on the other hand...

I agree on the Dell complaint. I called their support services and got someone that sounded like Abdul from the Simpsons. Was no help at all.

EXPERIAN. I could not find a number anywhere to reach a human at Experian. It was all recordings. So I did a little digging and found some blogs loaded with complaints but there were some numbers.
One was for their corporate offices. I called and explained that I couldn't find a number where I could reach a human being. The lady told me to hold on and transfered me to their recorded message (the one I had been trying).
I called back 2 more times explaining I wanted a human and not a recording. On the last call she heard a few choice words from me.

Lo and behold I got a follow up report on my credit report yesterday and there was a phone #. I was finally able to reach someone, after having to go through the push this button mess. The lady I finally spoke to was very gruff and had no sense of humor.

All I wanted to do was remove my ex-husbands addresses off my credit report. It should have been easy but was a pain.

I've had good experiences with Qwest but the best customer service I have ever received was from USAA.

I agree on the Bank of America and Dell. They both suck.

I have Cox high speed(?) internet. Their employees want to be helpful but are very poorly trained. I use Outlook for my e-mail and they claim not to know anything about it. I had Quest years ago and they were horrible. There is no way I would ever do business with them again.

...thats becasue Outlook is a MicroSoft product and Cox is only going to train within the Scope Of Support for liability and cost reasons. You may use Cox mail through Outlook but it is not the responsability of the Cox agent to provide support for it.

That sounds like a typical excuse for failure. The e-mail client in the system is outlook express which is also a Microsoft product. I pay almost $45 a month for service and I expect to be able able to talk to reps that have been trained in the systems that pertain to how their products are being used. Other wise, they are useless.

Whatever, talk to MS about their products. Not Cox, or just go get poned.

We had a horrible experience with Qwest who wanted us to pay our bill (WE HAD ALREADY PAID IT ON TIME) they were rude, totally unhelpful so we went to the opposition, but had some problems there and was dissatisfied so called Qwest but they wanted their money still (they already had it) and wouldnt connect us until we paid it, so we landed up staying with Cox and never had any problems since. QWEST SUCKS!!!

Oh and one other thing, I was speaking with a friend whose family member worked at Qwest and a few years ago apparantly there was a Memo circulating telling all employees that 'Its not about good customer service its all about the money'!!! Qwest can kiss my a___.

Sprint is the absolute WORST! When I had their service, I had nothing but trouble dealing with their customer service.

I must say that I would love LOVE to see Valley Metro get on this list. I have had NOTHING but bad experences with this outfit. I have called there phone number numerous times and after an exhusting round of play with the automated answering service I finally get a live person that I truely believe took an aptatude test and failed making them elegible for immeadite hire. There customer service reps are as dumb as a box of rocks!! I have also emailed them 3x with complaints and not ON RESPONCE was warrented.

I also was a Sprint customer and when my 2yr contract ended so did my service. they truely nickled and dimed me TO DEATH with there outragious fee's which then put me on the path to "Pre-Pay" cellular, which I can say I have been doing for 4yrs now and in that 4yrs I have spent as much money as I paid Sprint for 2yrs. nuff said about those greedy bastards

They forgot T-Mobile and Circuit City.

Quick grammar lesson that isn't meant to be rude I just think people don't know when to use who or whom. You call up him you don't call up he, therefore, you call up whomever not whoever. Whom can be replaced by him (2 m's) and who can be replaces by he.

that should be 'who can be replaced by he' if you want to split hairs here. Thanks blaze but the grammar lesson is not needed.

UPS. The delivery service is normally decent. But if anything gets lost or delayed, and is not obvious when tracking on their website, forget about it! Customer Service is completely clueless, and will make no attempt to help locate. Big difference (and disappointment) compared to Fedex.

Brit---its called a typo ding song. I often mix up the s and d keys for some reason. Do you really think that one who tutors children on the SAT would really make that mistake?

I see that you haven't changed a bit ABlaze aka CBlaze LOL, whoops my bad 'aksjfd'. I would think that a 'tutor' would remember to proof read though.

Someone mentioned T-Mobile, I have not had a problem with them, apart from one time, I had been way overcharged in 2 months and it was the original Sales Persons mistake, I called and was very annoyed to say the least, but it was resolved very quickly and didn't have to pay my cell phone bill for another 2 months, as the overcharges covered that.
