I say to profile and harrass citizens who are hard working isn't worth it. I could understand if they focused on black illegals ,white illegals, asian illegals and all other possible illegals but to just focus on hispanic people.

The other thing is Sheriff ordinary joe is just grandstanding he knows good and well the stings won't affect the illegal immigration problem because of the amount of illegals that come into az everyday. The stings are so sheriff ordinary joe can keep his name and face in the media. the stings are a waste of taxpayers dollar and time, the only thing that will have any affect is if this government takes it serious and pass legislation and laws to curb illegal immigration on all of our borders not just mexico.

Well lsd, it just so happens that 90% of the illegals are hispanic.
Here is an anaogy. If yu wanted to rid the city of birds that poop on statues, what species of bird would you mainly go after? Pigeons. Maybe a few sparrows. Hawks, eagles, chickens, and geese don't usually poop on statues.
The hispanic illegals are the ones pooping on our society. They need to be exported back to their home country. But, if they can find illegal French, Canadians, Swedes, etc, fine. Deport them too. But hispanics far outnumber ALL the others COMBINED. THAT is why they are the ones caught.

I've written to Scott Smith in the past. He will be of no assistance in upholding immigration laws.

How did the Chief "undermine" the operation? It was Joe's own publicist that gave out the info on the sweep and where the command center would be located. The Mayor would be wise to stay out of it or he needs to back his city's Police Chief. I just hope the LEGAL Citizens that were falsely arrested by the goon squad sue the pants off the MCSO's Office. This is a farce anyway you look at it. It reeks of a feeble attempt at a re-election.

I don't think a BLACK man will soon be president, but OBAMA might be president soon.
No matter who is the next president, they will make the illegals legal and the illegals with be able to vote. It will be a disaster. We need to expell as many illegals as we can before the next president legalizes them.

If anyone is really concerned about "civil rights," then you need to get busy trying to handle the illegal alien problem locally because the federal government wants them and presence of millions of illegals is exactly what's behind the desire to infringe upon civil rights.

I assume absolutely nothing. I know it takes a genius to figure out that if out of 54 people arrested and 17 were found to be illegals that would leave 37 people that are what, dressed in clown attire? Ignorance is a strong virtue when you only hear and see part of the story. My suggestion, watch and learn.

On another note. I would like to know why on earth if someone has no Legal ID no Proof of Insurance and no Drivers License the MCSO Officers would let them go on their merry way with no citations? Could it be that human rights activists were filming the stop? Maybe they were feeling generous since the Sheriff wasn't present. Some might say where's the proof. The proof was all over the news if you go back and watch the story on the lady that was in that pickup they kept showing. Things that make you go hmm????

THis 17 yr old kid only speaks Spanish, but is here legally. He wont get millions. It is reasonable for him to be assumed to be illegal if he doesn't speak english, has no ID, and is in a truck with an illegal driver with no driver license or proof of insurance.
Just like if you have car insurance but don't have the proof with you. If you are pulled over, you get a citation for no proof of insurance. Once you show the proof, you are cleared. My sister in law just did this a few weeks ago. She can't sue.
The BIG question is, How in the #ell can a legal citizen not know english? If he was born here, he would go to school and learn english. He he came here from elsewhere, how did he become a citizen whithout learning english?
