I don't think the words "YouTube" and "privacy" go together at all. Why would anyone expecting privacy post on YouTube?? There are millions of videos viewed by millions of viewers everyday. I'm not familiar with this story. Do you have a link or some info. on where you read this? Also puzzled how Viacom is involved. Guess I need to do some research.

jteamaz, Viacom was sueing them for $1 billion a while back. I guess they must have won. I heard on FOX 10 today the story I wrote above. I did a quick google search to make sure I heard right. I found a short news story about it, but it didn't have much detail. It was a breaking news story at the time.

Ken this is pitiful on so so many levels...I could cry. These kind of stories interest me though, so here's my fiddie cents.

First thing, their complaint is copyright infringement. Yet they're asking the judge to help them find out if the copyrighted material is watched more than the amateur material. (yellow flag #1)

Google is extremely liberal and has helped the cause of liberal outlets such as Viacom more than any other internet site, guarantee ya. (yellow flag #2)

Anyone who thinks we really have any sort of total privacy is crazy. Anything you say or post can and will be tracked down when they take your computer as evidence. This isn't really going to do anything. And Justmepa is correct. They are doing this in order to prosecute people a la Napster busts.

Youtube was ordered to turn over the youtube user logs to viacom for the users UPLOADING the protected tv episodes protected under copyright/trademark laws. I DONT UPLOAD TV SHOWS. The political videos posted here are NOT tv shows. POLITICAL NEWS IS FAIR USE CUZ ITS NEWS. "STAR TREK" episodes in their full length are copyrighted and unlawful to upload on youtube. People may use clips from tv shows but they cannot be more than 5% of the total length of the episode. Its amazing how stupid you guys are, you know NO technical information and are dumbed down pretty dam far.
