Did you see the President on TV again.  Well I have to admit, I did not see all of hisw news conference, I have to say that what I did see, he was talking a lot like an oil man to me.  I believe that he was an oil man in the past and that is exactly what he intends to go back to.   You can't tell me that he is impartial.  What you can tell me is that he is fighting the energy bill that America and the world needs.  He is fighting the developement of renewable sources of energy such as the use of Solar and Wind power.  Well  I  have a bit of bad news for him.  Contrary to what some people think.  If we completely poison this world, we do not get another one to go to.

WOW someone who's eye's aren't closed. Good for you. He is trying to scare people into thinking there is a need to drill offshore. And it's working because the Republican Sheeple still believe his BS. It will take 5 to 10 years to even begin to start refining. Why does he not want to tap the reserves that are sitting there collecting dust? Why, because he's in bed with the Saudi's that's why. It's time Americans start looking for alternatives on their own privately and stop letting big oil companies fund alternative resource programs. If Denmark can be all but oil free then a country (USA) with the supposed "greatest minds in the world" can find a way.

We need "All of the above". We should be researching solar, electric cars, etc. But we should also be drilling along side the foreign oil companies that are drilling off of our coasts. We should be drilling in Alaska too. I know we wont see oil from those areas for a while but the sooner we start drilling, the sooner we will get oil. It would be fantastic if by the time oil comes from those areas, we don't have a need for oil anymore. But thats not going to happen for a long time. We have millions of gas using vehicles on the roads that are not going to be converted to electric or solar anytime soon. So we will be able to use the oil we drill. The sooner, the better.

I just want to know, did the oil prices come down today because George Bush made a public statement about drilling oil?

Oil prices came down due to more bad news on the economy, and the fact that the 4th of July holiday is over. Demand has been lower, chances are the prices won't go up again 'til the Labor Day holiday, or if the economy continues to tank.

Bush is pro big business and from big oil, you can best believe he is out to protect his interests and his cronies before he's concerned about ours. We the people will have to speak up and demand that alternative and renewable energy sources are pursued.

DMG: Five times? In four sentences? Redundant is an understatement.

Yes Bush is an oil man that is not a revelation.
Yes Bush wants to protect his investments and those of his friends. That is no secret
But then what former President did not have the same self-serving interests??

Every one continues to scream for electric cars. But what they don't understand is that a very large portion of the oil used in this Country is used at power generating plants.
The very place that provides the power for you to charge your car!

Independence from or ideas that would conserve the use of oil have been stalled down through history by big oil, again no secret.

The self producing Hydrogen car was just shown on t-v. It was amazing and is being tested by the military with 100% success at this time.

Will we also see this idea slip into oblivion??

Every thing leftist aka progressives do not like are called loopholes. If the leftist aka progressives do not like the law that allows whatever the leftist aka progressives are crying about, then why did they agree to the law?
If there is such a thing as this “Enron” whatever then it is not a loophole. It means the people are simply obeying the law. A loophole is a way around the law. Kind of like how that leftist aka progressive guy got out of murder charges when he left that girl to drown in his car under a bridge. What was his name. Ted something.

Gas prices are high because of the leftist aka progressive epa laws. No new refineries, 49 different blends of gas.

Finally after his press conference the stocks went up. They usually drop.

DEAR CALL2GLORY, THE ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION ABOUT THE OIL PRICES IS NO. THE OLI PRICES CAME DOWN FOR THE VERY SIMPLE REASON THAT NO ONE WOULD BUY IT AT THOSE PRICES. I THINK THOSE PEOPLE WHO ARE RIDING THE BUS NOW ALL OVER THE COUNTRY ARE, TO A LARGE EXTENT, RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT. I THINK THEY DESERVE A NOTE OF THATNK FOR THAT. HURRAY.

it's bizarre how those who support solar and wind power are strangely silent about the pollution and environmental degradation/destruction those 2 energy resouces cause. add to that the fact that they are highly unreliable...... try using solar powwer in seattle, or better yet, anchorage, alaska! and wind power? what do you do when the wind isn't blowing, and those obscene windmills aren't producing power?
