Hi Everyone!

Here is the latest from Ole Miss!

John McCain will debate tonight. Barack Obama is flying in to Memphis and driving ninety miles south to the University of Mississippi at Oxford...the debate is at 6pm tonight Phoenix time.

Sen. McCain made the only decision he could make in deciding to show up tonight. Had he not shown up he would have incurred the wrath of the entire state of Mississippi. Also he would have ceded the stage to Barack Obama for ninety minutes with maybe 100 million people tuning in. That would have been a gigantic political blunder.

People here are energized and you can literally sense the tension in the air. This feels like a heavyweight prize fight. The stakes are enormous. Expect Mr. McCain to try to come across as a subdued, wise, patient leader. I do not think he will take many wild swings at Sen. Obama.

Mr. Obama will also try to seem above the fray of partisan politics. He may have to guard against being too passive and will likely take some digs at Mr. McCain, trying to link him to President Bush.

The debate is supposed to be about foreign policy but don't believe it. I think we will get to Iraq, Afghanistan and all the rest but the economy will be front and center tonight. Should be very dramatic. I'll keep you posted.

Your thoughts?

LOL. I think it's hysterical that McCain changed his mind (once again) after less than 48 hours. It just shows his lack of leadership skills. Perhaps he should have thought that decision through a bit more before he committed to it. That's a gigantic decision to make so quickly, but then again, Palin is his running mate.

Oh, and let's not forget that next Friday there is another debate (I am looking forward to that one even more) between Palin and Biden. I wonder if McFlipflop will find a reason Palin needs to ditch that day.

"I WANT SOMEONE WHO CAN MULTITASK."
* leadership skills:
I totally agree Obama is a master of multi-tasking, especially as an undocumented American citizen
with his Islamic ties, with muttering voice he masterfully gives prepared speeches written for him; he certainly is prolific by continually voting 'present'; he has the abilities to be as a chameleon regarding his biological heritage from being a Caucasian-Arabic to being a 6% black-African black (yet stating he is Black); having the personable right to be involved with people like Ayers, Sapos, Wright, Ferricon and so-forth; having associations with some of the very same 'financial-personalities' involved in the infamous 'bail-out'; having his uncanny ability to be non-patriotic, having pro-questionable inter-national affiliations, anti-religious leadership qualities while proclaiming unity of all religions, participating within personal-associations with gangsters, criminals, financiers, lobbyist, anti-Christian-socialistic-liberalism, homosexuals, atheist, profiteering, and other notions amiable to defenses of travesties, plus so much more.

If I took the time listing all of Obama's multi-tasking functions would be increased by reams; most of which is already documented in historical archives. Alas, my time is better put to use with positive significant matters.

So let's play the drinking game!!
Everytime one of the candidates uses the phrase:
"Economic crisis" we take a shot of Vodka
"by-partisan agreement" we take a shot of Vodka
"We need to stay the cource" we take a shot of Vodka
"let's look at his voting record" we take a shot of Vodka!!!

Oh, To heck with it!!! let's just get hammered!!!

justold---funny you should mention drinking games. My friends and I were just saying that every time John 'well now I am going to the debate' McFlipflop mentions his Vietnam days, you have to drink. After all, this debate is supposed to be about foreign policy, so every single one of his answers will mention how much he learned sitting in a box.

Oh, and please take no offense to this: I think its bipartisan. Bi b.c it's 2 parties.

Obama 21.21%

8PM FOX POLL

Of COURSE the Fox poll shows McCain the winner. AZ is McCain country. I couldn't stomach the debate for more than 20 minutes. The constant "you said this" "yeah, but you said that" and the other party denying was nauseating. I don't think either one of them was convincing or inspiring. Is there an option of NONE OF THE ABOVE on the presidential ballot?

My husband is a McCain supporter, that being said!! I am a Obama supporter!!
We both watched the debate last night, After the first 10 min. of Mccain stuggeling to speek, my husband told me, "I cringe everytime McCain opens his mouth!! He actually left the room after 20 min. of the debate. Neither he or I could understand why McCain wouldn't even look at Obama while he was speeking!!
Obama did just what he was asked to do, He adressed McCain directly, he asked McCain questions directly, he was very respectful of McCain (McCain kept laughing at Obama) while he was talking!!
As far as my husband and I are concerned, Obama won hands down!!!

I actually thought it was a little disrespectful for Obama to call McCain "John" rather than Sen. McCain and many times even called him by the wrong name. It was unprofessional and coming from Obama, seemed condescending. As for the laughing, they laughed at eachother and Obama's laugh was audible at times. If anyone remembers the last debates between Kerry and Bush, Kerry did a lot of laughing. Apparently it was proven that that turned off the American public tremendously and you know how that election turned out so they both better watch it. That debate changed nothing in my mind. McCain still relied on his past war experience and his "maverick" status to try to gain appeal, while Obama sounded like the well prepared empty suit that he always has.

My bf, a guy who has never voted Democrat, but claims to be independent, had a difficult time watching the beginning of the debate, too. At one point, McCain rambled on about all of the wars he supported which made the bf think he was too war happy and may very well invade Iran like I have been saying. Oh, and I remember one question he actually made a snoring noise and then said, 'that was horrible'.

Now, my bf is leaning in Obama's direction. Gotta call my strict Republican dad to see if he has finally flipped sides. He was on McCain's side of the fence by a few inches last time we talked.

Honestly, I really believe Obama is going to win and I didn't think that last week (I think the say I started believing was last week when McCain said nothing was wrong with the economy (oh and Palin on TV helped)).

Someday your fiction may be good enough to write space-alien leftist-stories for the impaired also.
