Women, which employer would you be more likely to work for?

Employer A -  Pays women $7,000 less than men

Employer B - Pays women $2,500 more than men

Being a woman, I'd want to be paid the same as a man doing the same job.  Getting a few extra bucks wouldn't hurt though.

Employer A has a few quotes I'd like to share with you.

"But when you look at our records and our plans on issues that matter to working women, the choice could not be clearer. ... It starts with equal pay."

"I support a  Senate bill to make it easier to sue an employer for pay discrimination."

"We can't afford an economy where folks keep working harder for less. We can't let the women in our workforce get paid even less for doing the same work."

It would appear Employer A doesn't think he needs to actually pay women the same as men, although he sure does talk a good game.

Employer A is Barrack Obama

Employer B is John McCain

This information is provided by the
Report of the Secretary of the Senate. Most interesting is that the Obama campaign does not respond to questions on this matter.

Equal work for equal pay also means dont force a man to alter his 24/7 appearence for 40 hours a week. If I have to chop my locks for the job, then I deserve 7 grand more than a person who does not have to chop theirs. I freakin hate having short hair and should be compensated in some way for the double standard. Yeah, and guys, ever tried to file sexual harrassment against a woman? Sexism is everywhere and in all forms. I sleep better at night knowing it never comes from me.

I'd like to see an exact link as to where this info came from as my guess is this is just another example of the Republican attack machine that sends out emails that are not based in facts which is why they don't give citations.

Well, I WAS going to vote for John McBush. But now that I see Barrack Oclinton is a male chauvinist pig like me, I'm gonna vote for Barrack Oclinton!

Just kid'in

I understand what you're saying Rygg, I think if we have to look at bad comb overs, then why the fuss over long hair if it's clean and neat? Unfortunately in today's society some people still, to use an old cliche, judge a book by its cover.

aks, this didn't come from an email so you won't find it on Snopes and you also will not find this on Obama's Fight the Smears website. This info is from The United States Senate, specifically, the location provided on the original post. The quotes from Obama can be found just about anywhere.

Ken, lol, a vote for Obama would be national suicide.

Yup, they do. With that comes more expectation of me to keep the job than the lady who gets to keep her locks. If the education level, skill level, and level of performance is the same....I am then working harder for the same job and should be paid more. If all things are trueley equal, then the pay should be the same for sure.

If you think that is bad. You best not retire. Stay working and save because you may not have any retirement at all. If you think all the money you have put in goes for your retirement age guess again. Make a call to the Social Security Department and ask how they determine how much you will receive each month. You will be surprised. It isn't what you might think. Trust me, I got a big surprise when I retired. Take what you can, when you can and go for the gusto when you can.

scooter--I agree, the dummycrats have ripped off this country by raiding social security, including it in the "General Fund", while what they, all of congress and the senate, pay for their retirement is not into Social Security. What hypocrits.

AKS its public info you might as well accept the fact that Obama is what I have been saying, just another slimy politician.
They (politicians) will say anything to get elected.
He is a snake oil salesman. In his own book he says that (and I paraphrase) he is a blank canvas that people see what they want to see on.
You B.O. supporters are being taken for a ride.

dhw, I suspect you are correct :)

JustMePa, absolutely, he's no different than the rest of them when it comes to saying what he thinks people want to hear. There isn't anything he can say to make this appear to be a smear towards him. Facts are facts.

There's a video of Obama in the middle of one of his speeches. Shows him coming to an abrupt stop as the audio he was reciting from went dead in his ear. He should take a few extra bucks from his campaign fund and invest in a better quality cheat sheet, I mean audio equipment.

It has been my experience that the equal work for equal wages usually is a little short on the equal work end. All positions in my organization were payed the same to start regardless of gender. However, raises were based on quality and quantity of work performed and when it came to physical labor, females (for the most part) could not keep up and so did not receive salary increases as much as males. Businesses must have control of quantity and quality of their product and cannot afford to reward someone who is not pulling their weight. That is not a double standard. It would be a double standard if someone were to receive increases without merit. Bottom line is if you want more pay, do it the old fashioned way, "EARN IT" but, the opportunity should be equal.

The downfall of this country began the day women were given the right to vote.

Tweety, are you saying that Obama is a lying politician who talks the talk, but won't walk the walk?
:)

BTW, you're not the only one that notices his nonsensical rambling when the ear piece is off.

"If CNS has its figures correct, then Obama has some explaining to do. CNS has not always been terribly reliable, but in this instance, it’s not difficult to get the correct figures on staffers and salary; they’re matters of public record. CNS has managed to do what other media outlets have overlooked, which is to match Obama’s rhetoric with his hiring record." (hotair.com)

Still looking for the numbers. Where did you find the numbers on the site listed, Tweety? Or did you just take someone's word on this?

Back up these numbers with some research. i have looked and looked and can't find any links that lead to hard numbers. And, with all of the lies Republicans like to tell, I can't believe it til I see it.

"By one measure, however, women did do better in Obama’s office than in McCain’s. When the average salary was calculated for all people on the office payroll, including interns, Clinton paid women an average of $51,948, Obama paid women an average of $48,729, and McCain paid women an average of $47,898." (cns news---same entitity that came up with your 'facts' Tweety.)

Ok--I figured it out. THe facts were manipulated to make McCain look better, but here is the real deal--
McCain has a lot more unpaid interns who are women which are not included in the figures you provided, Tweety. IF you add in all of the women working for McCain, including the interns, you get the figures listed above.

See...you are all easily tricked because you never research things for yourself. You all need to start being careful. Had you gone to college, you would realize that methodology is the most important part of studies, more important than actual results even.

Give it a rest. If you can't believe it, don't.

Why are YOU trying to defend Obama? Let him do that himself, he has plenty of resources. He's the only candidate in the history of this country, that needs two websites: one to spread lies and one to fight the truth. Every Obama supporter should be perfectly accustomed to living with lies by now.

Bob, love your sense of humor!

pJ, in a nutshell, yes :)

aks, I did do the research, now it's your turn. I can't help you when you twist and distort information to suit you. When you decide to bring in number of woman interns without any other relevant info, you are creating distorted numbers, simply put, your methodology stinks. Your last paragraph is pathetic and barely worth dignifying with a response. You're the one that has been tricked and I'm seriously doubting YOUR education.

pJ, exactly!!!!! Obama is one extremely desperate politician.

Life is a compromise of what your ego wants to do, what experience tells you to do, and what your nerves let you do. If you have to tell someone how important, rich and/or smart you are, you aren't!
