Although I've flown US Airways once since the sell out, that will have been my last time.
Asking pilots to fly with minimum amount of fuel is INSANE.
What happens if you have to reroute to another city, states away, (happens all the time)
or what happens if you have to circle in the air to wait out a storm.
I see only one good thing to come from this, as the US Airways jets are running out of fuel, and dropping out of the air, the Southwest Jet I'll be on, will get to land that much sooner- SWEEEET     Good thinking Doug

why not just turn off one engine? why not take half the crew off or cut a couple of wings off the plane.....Good Lord! This had to have been a "good idea" from a too much paid ceo who doesnt want his salery cut....lets fly with less fuel....Seriously???

A pilot has complete responsibility for the safety of his aircraft during a flight. Shouldent they also have complete control of how the plane is prepared before the flight, including fuel load? I understand the airline is trying to save money, but possibly sacrificing saftey is not where to do it.

I will never ever fly with this airline, now they are compromising safety of the passengers, they can get lost IMO.

native in 2000 we had the same experience almost with their snotty stuck up useless air crew, I swore off flying with them ever again too, they ran out of everything, and I flew with 2 small children all the way from england (layover in Baltimore) to phx from there, there were no more blankets left, apart from one that they eventually found that 3 of us had to share, no more peanuts no more drinks, and snotty unhelpful, rude rude employees!!!! I am with ya, I would sooner drive!!!
