There’s a story today about the two Satellite Radio Networks and how even though they will probably be merging soon, the outlook for these two companies is not good.

Their stock is way down today after a Goldman Sachs analyst issued a negative long-term outlook for the companies, saying demand for satellite radio is diminishing.

In other words more people are using MP#3 players or i-pods, streaming audio to cell phones and other high tech stuff and could care less about listening to the radio.

What do you think?  Do you have an I-pod – or use your phone for entertainment or do you still like the radio?

ironey?,Reciently i had just read an article released by abc news talking about a person was killed over an i-pod.sound fammilar in relation about the nike shoe killing?.Anyhow to where i am getting at is the things people do when it comes to material intrests.I should say most modern day people with technology get carried away with their toy's at times and spend more time with their gadgets then actually utilizeing their reckreational resources. In other words the modern day holicost is technological wise. With my gadget is strictly business purposes because i know about gameing addiction.Time to time i would meddle with it but don't spend half my lifetime playing with the those gadgets.

I have an ipod, but still listen to the radio sometimes.

I have a trial subscription to Sirius in my car, but probably won't use it after the trial is over. Why? The subscription prices. $12.95 a month or $142 for a year. I feel that's a bit high. I only listen to 10 channels out of about 200.

I can listen to some radio stations online for free at home, so why buy an additional satellite radio? I have Dish Network TV and Sirius channels are already included. Just like XM is included with DirecTV.

Perhaps when XM and Sirius do merge, they'll offer an a la carte package. Choose which channels you want for a really low price. I may be interested in that.

I listen to the radio in my car, but I do have xm on my boat and in the house, but I only listen to two or three channels. It does seem like a waste of money to pay for all those channels that I never listen too.

Okay! I think I have it!

There’s a story today about the two Satellite Radio Networks that are merging soon, but outlook for these two companies is not good.

(well ..... Check that off!)

Their stock is way down today after a 'Goldman analyst' issued a negative long-term outlook for the companies, saying demand for satellite radio is diminishing.

(Terminate Goldman!)

More people are using MP#3 players or i-pods, streaming audio to cell phones and other high tech stuff and could care less about listening to the radio.

But the question is: (WHY?)

What do you think? (About What?)

I don't have an I-pod, I use my phone for phone calls and yes, I do like the radio (if it's of good quality, attractive and a dependable brand).

When I went to sleep the other night, everything was simpler. I had my short-wave crystal set, with an aerial made of threaded copper by the Clovis man.

It worked and I was content!

Times were quieter then. Life was grounded to the soil.

We had 'talking' and 'Pea-pods'! That's all we needed!

This morning, I woke up!

Now, everything is confused!
Who needs the other stuff?

Ever since the Mayans moved into our neighborhood things got worse.
They built these giant apartment
houses everywhere; Ruined the area!

Then they messed with the calendar and now time is involved with everything.

Why couldn't things be left as they were?

Can't trick me though: (I-p.o.d. is a Time Term Contract).

meaning: 'I pay on Demand'!

It's all within the 'Conspiracies of Everything'.

It's the essen

I'm not surprised to hear that Sirius radio is in financial trouble. That's what they get for putting $100 million eggs in Howard Stern's basket to lead them into the great rebirth of radio.
I had a trial subscription to Sirius that came with my new vehicle and listened to a few music stations and after hearing the same songs over again I went back to bringing my ipod into the truck when I wanted music.
I even checked out Stern's High School quality show station and it seems they play the same shows over again there too.
The only radio station I listen to when I drive is KTAR sports radio.
I think the ipod technology is the best entertainment invention that has come out in a long time and use it 80% of the time I drive.
I own a cell phone and am probably one of the very few that, honestly, only uses it under special circumstances.

Steve, I'm with you. I rarely use my cell phone. My friends yell at me to turn it on when I'm out because they may want to reach me. I say leave a message on my home answering machine. I'll get it when I return.
As for the radio, I still listen. I do have XM with my satellite and listen to it quite a bit when I'm home but when I'm in the car it's radio all the way. I still like to hear the DJ's and local info. No I-Pod for me. I wouldn't even know how to work one.

I have XM because I travel a lot. It is nice not having to fumble around for Cd's while I'm driving and it's nice that the stations don't fizzle out. As for Ipods, hell I still listen and play my LP's.

I use my ipod exclusively for my listening pleasure while driving.
I have a larger playlist then any radio station I have ever listened to all of which is in the ipod.
I have thousands of lp's and 45's that I recorded onto cd's with a cd recorder and they are all living quite happily in that great little invention.
I too don't use my cell that much.

I have one of those "smart" phones that has my calendar on it. I use the calendar a lot to keep me up to date with where I'm supposed to be and what I'm supposed to do, but the phone? Hardley anyone calls me and I usually have no one to call.

There you go, Rick.
Your phone-device has been overtaken
by those 'smart' Mayans and controlled by time,
relevant to their calendar.
BUT .. no one calls. RIGHT?
Just as it was all planned!

There is a website www.btjunkie.org they have so much music on there you can't go wrong. Oh no it's a file sharing site. You also have to download utorrent. I haven't had any problems with any of the files so it's safe.

The thing is - if the world comes to an end, no one is going to break in on your i-pod to tell you about it.

I have Sirius and I dont think I could handle regular radio again, I'd rather pay 12.95 and get commercial free music/talk radio than listen to 45 of commercials and 15 min of music/talk.

The End & the I-Pod!
That's why everyone should have a short-wave crystal set,
with an aerial made of threaded copper wire, (and a ground wire)
so when the final event takes place (those people well equipped)
can tune in to extraterrestrial broadcasters
and know what to do and where they will go;
especially, for those who have their Mayan Secret De-coder Ring.
Note: Stay within your pod as it is your escape vehicle in disguise.
